Arrow Unanswered: Anyone know how to make an alternative column name?

    Hello everyone.

I'm using IBM's Rational Software Architect to reverse engineer db2 databases.

There is an option that says
    Column display options
    -SHOW LABEL

All the databases I've reversed engineer, this button does nothing.

But what I was hoping it would do would be another name for a column.

For instance If i had a DDL that looked like this:

    CREATE TABLE
    "bridgeLink"
    (
    "1.3.18.0.0.3315.8.7.2"
    VARCHAR(120)
    ,
    "1.3.18.0.0.3573"
    ObjectLink
    ,
    "1.3.18.0.0.5273"
    VARCHAR(120)

    ...
    ...

Is there a way to have an alternative name for the column

    for instance:
if I wanted the column to be named
"1.3.18.0.0.3573" and also be named bridgeLinkName
    is this possible?

I was wondering if maybe a label was infact this..

    Thanks!

You can use views to create alternate column names.

    Thanks for the response!
Can this be done in the .ddl?

The only reason for this is to keep the dotted decimal name with the readable English name so things don't get lost in translation. Would just mimic the table with different names?
