Unanswered: How do you declare a DATALINK data type in db2?
I wrote a program that will convert some text file into valid DB2 DDL script so that Rational Software Architect will be able to load in the files and model them.
But I'm having a hard time figuring out how to declare a data type as Datalink in db2 v8.2
Here's a piece of my DDL code I generate:
CREATE TABLE "M".
Now when I load this .ddl in Rational Software Architect, the DATALINK types don't show up at all.
It will show that aSegmentNumber is VARCHAR(1024), but anything that is datalink will just be blank....
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here?
Thanks, i'm using db2 v8.2.
Another odd thing is,
If in Rational Software Architect, I say the DDL i'm loading is v9.1, it will show the other data types like varchar etc, but if its left at v8.2, it wont show ANY data types next to the field names....
but either way its not liking the datalink as a field type...
Does v8.2 have a problem with Datalink types?
Somthing more weird,
If I actually put the following line the .DDL:
CREATE DISTINCT TYPE OBJECTLINK AS DATALINK;
Then I replace each instance of DATALINK with OBJECTLINK, it will work fine...
Which is actually what I wanted but why wouldn't just putting DATALINK as a field type work?
