Unanswered: Grant on Proc not working

since morning i am facing a problem on all db's on a server
if i recreate a procedure and give grants to users ...it justs stop responding

my last grant is now running for 1 hrs
also its not allowing me to force that particular auth id
even granting through db2cc isn't helping

if it do a db2stop its doesnt come up with db2start and then i have to restart the server.

    sort of urgent....

    its 30
yes it was causing locks all over the system level tables.
even running a db2rbind goes infinitely causing locks all most everywhere

It sounds like you have some sort of resource bottleneck. Something is causing the system to go very slow with this. The grant process should not take much time at all, but the bottleneck is slowing it way down. The force is going slow also since it needs to rollback what the grant was trying to do--also going through the bottleneck. The db2stop is having the same problem. It is waiting for the rollback to complete before it finishes.

The only thing I can suggest is to quiesce the instance and try the grant to see how it goes. If it still is going slow, open a PMR with IBM.
