Unanswered: How to run log miner in a db with NOARCHIVELOG mode
I need help in running the log miner in a an oracle db running in NOARCHIVELOG mode.
Here is our TEST DB configuration.
Unix, SunOS 5.9
db on NOARCHIVELOG mode
utl_file_dir = NULL
I want mine a archive log file from our production database with similar configuration. I can FTP the archive log file, text based dictionary file into the test machine.
As a first step I tried to build the dictionary into the log miner and got the following error.
SQL> EXECUTE SYS.DBMS_LOGMNR_D.BUILD(DICTIONARY_FILENAME=>'orcl dict.ora',DICTIONARY_LOCATION=>'/s01/app/oracle/admin/ITNSTAGE/bdump');
BEGIN SYS.DBMS_LOGMNR_D.BUILD(DICTIONARY_FILENAME=>'orcl dict.ora',DICTIONARY_LOCATION=>'/s01/app/oracle/admin/ITNSTAGE/bdump'); END;
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01308: initialization parameter utl_file_dir is not set
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_LOGMNR_D", line 931
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_LOGMNR_D", line 2050
ORA-06512: at line 1
Does anyone know how to build the dictionary without using utl_file-dir parm ?
The dicrectory location /s01/app/oracle/admin/ITNSTAGE/bdump is in the dba_directories with READ and WRITE access to the user executing the logminer.
How do I get around with this bypassing the utl_file_dir ?
Anyn help is appreciated.
