    Unanswered: How can I delete the running procedure?

    Hi, everyone ,thank you in advance!

    I have finished a procedure. But it has run over 3 hours. I found that there is a LOOP statement without EXIT statement. Now I want to stop the procedure and delete it.

    In the tool "UTF-8 TeraTerm Pro", I have used the keyes [CTRL]+[C], I hope I can stop the procedure. But I failed. How can I delete the running procedure with Oracle 10g database running in the operation system "Solaris"?

    Thank you very much!

    From the Solaris command line issue:
    $ kill -9 <pid>
    where <pid> is the process id of the offending OS process.

    You could try:

    but I expect the offending session to be tagged as KILLED or SNIPED but the session won't clear until after OS process get terminated
    You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
    The average person thinks he's above average!
    For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
    Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.
