    Unanswered: Extension of dbspace

    Hi,

In our Informix Database, we use the rootdbs. As this is nearly filled I need to extend the size of the dbspace or add another chunk to it. Is there any auto extension for dbspace as in Oracle. Plz help me out.

    Thanks & Regards.

if you not using the Sentinel (software what make this thinks automatically) you must execute manually .

Use the onspaces commando to add another chunk.

    onspaces -a rootdbs -p <path_file> -o <offset> -s <size>

    more details...
    onspaces --help

    This command does not exists...
You must monitor by your self and write shell scripts to do this... or buy a third party software, like Sentinel : http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data/informix/sentinel/
