    Design for Internationalization

We have the requirement at our company to store the same data, but translated into many different languages in our database. I tried to search the forums, but I was not able to find an answer. I must have been using the wrong key words.

    (not a great) Example:

If we need to store a book we would want to store the title and description of that book. But we also want to be able to store the translations of that book's title and description so we can show them to users in their particular languages.

We are wanting to use the I18N standard of Language and Local code if possible. For example: es = spanish, es_MX = Spanish from Mexico, es_ES = Spain, etc...

Any suggestions on a table design?

    Thank you for your time.

Interesting problem! Not really sure what the best method is but this would be my initial thought:

    Books(bookID, AuthorID, ... )

    bookDetails(bookID, languageCode, title, description, ... )
