    Unanswered: Limit Access

    I want to limit a forms viewable data to only what the users login name entered (password restricted)... Each user should only be able to view what they enter into the form, not others entries.

    How do I make that association? I don't want to make different forms for each person. Thanks in advance.

    My Idea would be

    to add a new feild to the data base and that will store the user log in name then each query would have to point to that user BUT if a admin login then point to all data

    So Look like you be write the Query on the Fly

    SQL = ""
    SQL = SQL & "Select *"
    SQL = SQL & "From Table"
    if admin then
    whereis = ""
    else
    whereis = "where tablename.login=" & loginid
    end if

    sql = sql & whereis

    A little tick a did for a customer was
    use the Tag Value in feild propies

    had User , Man , Admin

    When each form/screen was loaded the the program would hide feilds that user could not aloud to see
    hope this help

    See clear as mud

    the aim is store once, not store multiple times

    I use the GetUser function in the code bank and stick it in the Select statement when I'm setting up the recordset.
