Question Unanswered: Timezone affects database backup?

I'm trying to perform a database backup on an Oracle 10G database on Windoze. Unfortunately the backup won't execute, it appears that timezone is an issue.

Both the OS and the Database are set for Pacific time, but there is an hour difference between the two. I suspect the PDT setting of the database has jumped forward an hour a week too soon.

Does this difference in timezone actually keep me from being able to do a backup? If so, what should I do to fix the problem? It's a production box so I didn't want to make a change at the time.

On Sunday, we had a few systems Fall Back (erroneously).
They had their locale set to Tijuana, Mexico; which did in fact go off DST.
You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.

    Looks like the same issue.

Did it cause your backup process to fail? If so, is the fix simply to adjust either system, O/S or Database, timezone?

    Regards,
