Unanswered: how to correlate two worksheets???

    Hey all,

I have an excel file. and there are so many worksheets in it. but there are two worksheets that are interelated.

    1)Location

    2)Building

and i may have multiple buildings in one Location.

Is there any way I can combine both of these, While not making them as a single worksheet.

any Formula i may be able to use in 2nd worksheet(Building) to refer some corresponding 1st(Location) data value?

Howdy, can you post a simple example, a few rows/columns with what you have, and what you need.

    but at least I'm inconsistent!

    Yes sure

    Worksheet 1(location)

    Location1 Add 0 Columbia
    Location2 Add 1 Charlotte
    Location3 Add 3 Charleston

    Worksheet2(Building)

    *CountyName *CountryCode

    xyz 1245

Now if thats building for Location1. How could i add the building for location2...
and I am not supposed to create a single column extra. As these worksheets are system generated with predefined columns..

Okay, that's understandable. Can you put one with dummy data?

this sounds like a VLOOKUP FORMULA PROBLEM; just make sure to sort data ascending. use the VLOOKUP help in excel.
