Sales Engineer, DB2 on z/OS (Mainframe)

The primary goal of this position is to provide prospects with in-depth product knowledge in primarily DB2 on z/OS to insure prospect’s purchase of our solutions. In this role you will have the ability to strategize, design, create and execute new technical solutions! This is a highly exciting and challenging role. The individuals we are seeking will have demonstrated DB2 on z/OS expertise and credentials that clearly establish credibility among our existing and potential z/OS clients. Your responsibilities will include partnering directly with sales to find the most effective and timely DB2 on z/OS solutions; achievement of service targets; managing work flow priorities; maintaining high visibility with our prospects and providing thought leadership externally and within the organization as you work to present a portfolio of customer focused mainframe business solutions through the application of our software. This position calls for the ability to write and present documentation and reports in a clear and concise manner. We are seeking a DB2 on z/OS engineer to specialize in our mainframe product. This position requires extensive DB2 database administrator experience. Travel is a requirement.

Example of duties:
• Present product demonstrations
• Compile prospect detailed environment information
• Match environment requirements with best solution.
• Go to prospect sites to conduct successful Proofs of Concepts
• Act as technical resource for sales and prospects as they navigate their way through the sale cycle.
• Assist with RFI & RFPs
• Prepare Statements of Work (SOW)
• Arrange product shipments
• Implement customer solution after purchase

Required Qualifications:
• Excellent DB2 knowledge in z/OS platforms with at least five years experience in this area.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to get along with diverse personalities
• Strong business acumen
• Understanding of the role of technology in solving business issues and improving ROI
• Strong upbeat “can-do” personalities
• Problem solvers
• Travel 25-30%.

Desired (but not necessary)
• COBOL programming experience
• CICS programming experience
• Previous selling or presales experience of security solutions
• Previous selling or presales experience of database solutions
• Experience with PCI, HIPPA, Sarbanes-Oxley and/or California 1386.
• Peoplesoft experience
• CISSP certification
