Unanswered: How to connect isql after dataserver utility

    Hi
I have created new master device on linux using dataserver utility.
The device is created. and it does not show any error while using this utility.
    Model database is also created.
But now i dont know how to connect isql / how to start the new server.
While connecting to it using isql , it gives the ct_library error.

Is there any process is missing ? or my way of creating is wrong.

    Pl help me regarding this.

    Thanks and Regards

You need to build the server using either the srvbuild (gui based) or srvbuildres (command line using a resource file). Did you do that?

If you have done that, then you will see RUN_SERVER files under the install directory.

You can start the server using startserver -f RUN_SERVER file.

Once you have done that. You can connect thro

    isql -Usa -P -S SERVER_NAME

After a server build, sa password is null.

I think you need to read up the Installation document in http://sybooks.sybase.com

For every time you build a new instance, you need to run srvbuild/srvbuildres.

    The order is the following:

    1) Extract from CD / download
    2) For every instance run srvbuild/srvbuildres. So, if you need 2 ASE instance on a single host, you have to run it twice.
