    Unanswered: DB2 Unload

    Hi,

We are in proccess of migarating our data from VSAM files to DB2.

    In our new DB2:

We have a table that we use to insert data in on-line work(CICS).

At the same time, approxomatly once in 30 minutes,we need to selectively or not unload(batch) the the table,in order to pass it over for further procceding.

The table contains smth. like 150,000 rows, 2000 bytes each.

I ran 2 tests in which I wanted to simulate an unload when a table is busy in on-line inserts.

    1) I wrote a simple CICS program in which I insert in loop 30,000 rows to the table(All this in one transaction). At the same time I ran an unload batch.

    Result: -911(timeout).

    2) In second test I simulated more realistic scenario in which I ran 2000 transactions in loop 10 transactions in a second, every transaction makes one row insert to the table.

    Result: success.

Question: what is the reason to failure in the first scenario?

    Thanks

At the end of each transaction a COMMIT takes place and the locks are released.
