    wanted to import data from oracle to mysql installed in local box.

    can only write something for your question one. This will be difficult without 3rd party tool. The way I do this, is to use MS Access. I odbc-link tables from both, Oracle and MySql into the Access database and then use a query to move the data from one to the other database.
