A Java / Vignette Content Management Developer whose responsibilities will include Manages and executes small- to moderate-scale independent assignments and works as part of larger teams to create significant and complex managed-content solutions for business applications, including, but not limited to, designing, developing, and providing technical support for content management applications using Vignette Content Management solutions.


? Designs, develops, tests and maintains content management interfaces for business applications.

? Demonstrates the ability to work independently, taking ownership and responsibility for managing projects and tasks.

? Provides technical ownership in primary areas of competence, and provides support in task management and project leadership.

? Develops increasing expertise in key software development and system implementation technologies.

? Develops experience and expertise in problem definition, requirements analysis, and the general design of systems.

? Develops an increasing appreciation for technologies and architectures, including; enterprise architecture strategies and implementation, architecture software design and deployment best practices, content management methodologies and best practices, architecture and component performance testing, hosting strategies and infrastructure architectures, OOAD, OOP, and RUP.

? Provides technical direction, analysis, and/or assistance to junior technology staff on an as-needed basis.

? Provide technical support to third parties regarding the use, understanding, design, and implementation of products, providing end user and on-site support when required.

? Demonstrates the ability to multi-task by managing and communicating priorities to all appropriate audiences.

? Represents client and its products in public forums, inter-company meetings, and industry conferences.


Successful candidates will possess:

Bachelor’s degree in CS, MIS, or other technical discipline preferred; advanced degree a plus.

Must have a minimum of five years’ increasingly responsible technology experience, with prior hands-on work experience in Internet applications development. Experience in a variety of front- and back-end capacities is desired.

Experience working with Vignette Content Management required. Familiarity with Vignette Portal, DPM/DSM, DRM, CCE a plus.

Experience building Custom Widgets, Event Listeners, and/or CMA Extensions desirable.

Must have a solid understanding of various Internet technologies:

Proven GUI development skills, including JSP/ASP/PHP, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, and/or CSS

Experience with XML, including XSLT, Schema/DTD, XPATH, DOM, SAX/Xerces/Expat

Strong working knowledge of application servers, including BEA Weblogic (7.x, 8.x) and TomCat

Knowledge of major Internet applications such as content management systems, ad servers, middleware platforms, and usage tracking systems

Familiarity with Web Services, SOAP, Struts, EJB, Servlets, J2EE patterns, UML, and/or Object-Oriented Design a plus
