Unanswered: Moving a database from one node to another

I'm trying to move a database from one node to another on the same server. Ive used the uncatalog database command, then CATALOG DB nnnnn AT NODE newnodename. I list the database directory, and all looks ok, but I cant access it from the control centre. If i try to add the db by using discovery search, it can't find it on the new instance, but still can see it on the old.

I'm obviosuly missing something fairly basic !!

This is DB2 Express v8.14 on windows 2000

    Any help really appreciated.

You will need to re-create (e.g. restore) the database in the new instance.

P.S. Generally speaking, you should not use the terms "node" and "instance" interchangeably.
"It does not work" is not a valid problem statement.

How exactly did you catalog the database? You have to specify the path to the database. Also, try to connect to the database at the CLP to avoid all the CC overhead.

IFIRC, backup/restore should not be necessary.
