    Unanswered: Member already exists in an object module

    Greetings,

    While working on a little app, the main form had some code attached to On Open and On Current, and worked just fine for a long time. While making some updates, I suddenly got this message when trying to open it:

    The expression On Open you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: Member already exists in an object module from which this object module derives.
    I have never seen this before. The code in On Open is pretty benign:
    Code:
    Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer)
        Me.Score = 0
        Me.Score1 = 0
        Me.Score2 = 0
    End Sub
    If I remove the event procedure call, I get the same error on the next expression (On Current). I tried putting a break point in but the form never actually opens, so the code is never actually run and there get no break.

    I removed all the other objects, copied this to a blank DB, etc. with the same result each time.

    What does it mean?
    have fun!

    You may want to check all the object names on the form - did you add a new object anywhere on the form? You may have duplicated something somewhere.

    Found it. A procedure call name matched a control name. Compiled just fine, but wouldn't open so I had to look for it the old fashion way.
