    Unanswered: cs_locale problem

    Running ASE 12.5.0.3 on AIX 5.2 32-bits.

    Get message in errorlog:
    connectivity library error - Operation: cs_locale (CS_SYB_SORTORDER nocase_iso_1_nor)

Probably not enough information so please tell me if more is needed.

If the sort order you want to use currently maps to "NULL", you must update the

mapping to identify the actual sort file in $SYBASE/charsets.

You can run select name, sortfile from syscharsets to see where the mappings are to NULL.

    The workaround is...

    sp_configure "allow_updates", 1

    go

    update syscharsets

    set sortfile = "name_of_srt_file"

    where name = "name_of_the_sort_order"

We have set sortorder, and verified that it has been set but the messages still appear int the errorlog.
This doesn't seem to cause any problems though. Only annoying messages in the errorlog.
We run other versions of ASE where we don't see these messages.

If you have a support contract, worth calling up sybase.
