    Unanswered: Subtracting Time in Excel

    Hello.

Trying to create a flight log sheet to convert zulu to local time, etc.

    Example:

    1/3/08 0:01

    (in Zulu)

... and I want to convert minus 5 hours for eastern time local. (manual cell entry for -5 hours.)

    Answer should be = 1/2/08 19:01

    How do I do this??????

    Cheers.

    Hi

I think you need something like this

    =A3-B3/24

    Where cell A3 = 1/3/08 0:01 and B3 = 5

Although I'm on UK date formats not US formats, but it should work OK.

    Thanks for your input.

I should have mentioned that B3 in your example needs to be either a positive number, 0, or negative number. That is where I am running into problems is the negative number, for the NY time zone for example, converting from zulu.
