Unanswered: What does this expression mean in a qry- Rate: [qryTrd].[Type]="used"

this is the value in the field row of a column

    Rate: [qryTrd].[Type]="used"

i know Rate: means as rate, but the = sign in the field rather than cirteria row, what does that mean? is this making a constant?

    I expect that will return a true/false value, -1 or 0.

Yup it will give TRUE if the field Type is "used" and FALSE if it is not.
