Exclamation Unanswered: Cannot backup table (Sybase error?)

I'm trying to backup a linked SQL Server table in Access using "SELECT INTO" etc..., and I'm getting the following error:

    ODBC--call failed.

[SYBASE][ODBC Sybase driver][SQL Server]ct_send(): user api layer: external error: This routine cannot be called because another command structure has results pending. (#49)[SYBASE][ODBC Sybase driver][SQL Server]ct_cmd_drop(): user api layer: external error: This routine can be called only if the command structure is idle. (#159)

I had already backed it up once using the same method, so I know it works, or at least can work. Someone else accidentally dropped that backup table, and I was trying to re-back up the table using the exact same syntax. I have tried restarting both Access and the computer as a whole. Neither has helped. What is this error and how can I make it go away, or least work around it?

It is possible that this could be due to the fact that we are quickly approaching the 2 gig mark on the database. I'll let you know if doing our regular cleanup takes care of the problem. (looks like we may need to do the cleanup earlier from now on)
