    Unanswered: how to get to the version of Informix server using Embeded SQL?

    Hi,

    I want to get the version info from current Informix server at run-time using embeded SQL.
    for example, SQL Server can use the syntax:select @@version from ...

    I know I can get the version through command onstat -l, but it can be used in my application at run-time.

    Thanks very much!
    Frank

    Hi,

    Check with sintax: databasename@servername:tablename
    Where
    databasename = database name
    servername = INFORMIXSERVER, variable
    tablename = table name

    Gustavo.

    use dbinfo
    ex.:
    SELECT DBINFO('version', 'major')
    FROM systables
    WHERE tabid = 1;
