I have a database that is currently a 14 GB and it grows by 100 MB a week. Transaction log grows pretty fast for example it was 100 MB yesterday at 4:00 pm and this morning it grew to 611 MB. I back up transaction logs every 30 min and also have to shrink it now manually on a regular basis. Is there anything else I can do to keep transaction log from growing this fast?
Seriously, 600mb is a piddling transaction log for a 14gb database...
Stop shrinking it. That is pointless and will negatively affect your performance.
If you are running out of disk space either add a drive or move old backups to another resource or to tape.
If it's not practically useful, then it's practically useless.
