    Exclamation Unanswered: Regarding form a query

    Hi Everbody,

    I am new to the Database. I have one table, name is employee. That table has several column. I have created the index for name column of the employee table. What is my question is, I want to fetch the record, which is depended name column. What type of query we have to write.

    Anyone please Help me.

    I want to fetch the record, which is depended name column
    I don't quite understand what the bold phrase means, and what types of query do you know, but - if you'd like to fetch a record that contains data about a certain employee, you'd do that as
    Code:
    SELECT * 
    FROM employee
    WHERE name = 'Littlefoot';
    Is that what you are looking for?

    So in your country there are people whose names end with 'xyz'? I'd like to hear some of them!

    You'll have to research use of the LIKE operator and wildcard character '%':
    Code:
    SELECT * 
    FROM employee
    WHERE name LIKE '%xyz';
