    Unanswered: mysql installer for 64 bits need it, but doesnt exists

    Dear members

    i have an application that works with mysql 5.0.27 (linux(development)/windows(production)) but for 32 bits

    i am going to buy a new pc intel for 64 bits but
    in this link
    http://downloads.mysql.com/archives....l-5.0&v=5.0.27

    for windows installer, i only can see for 32 bits version

    can i install in my new pc machine of 64 bits the old installer for 32 bits and
    work without problems?

    same case for linux

    You can still run 32 bit programs on a 64 bit processor. Just don't expect any of the performance increases that a 64 bit processor and OS bring to apply to this program.

    ok, i forgot to say that my mobo,processor and XP installer
    all are with architecture 64bits

    so if this works without problems,
    i am fine,
    wondered why some performance is not apply here
