Unanswered: Issue with selecting table as target for Append query

    Hi,

My database has a main table, called Helper. I copied this table (structure & data) to keep details of deceased helpers, and called it Deceased_Helpers. I then removed all bar 2 of the rows and removed a lot of unimportant columns.

I'm now trying to set up an append query to copy data from Helper to Deceased_Helpers when someone dies. On creating an append query, I'm asked which table I want to append to, but Deceased_Helpers does not appear in the selection list. I'm completely stumped as to why.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

    I'd be trying things like:

    Compact and Repair
    /decompile
    Rename the table again
    Edit the SQL

    That kind of thing.

Thanks for your reply - I decided to do it in raw SQL and paste that into the query, and it worked fine.

    Thanks again

I'd be trying things like a flag inthe helper tables that indicated if this recrod was current or not, that way round I don't have any data RI issues.
