Hi All,

I am new to Sybase. I have a Sybase Database server Installed on other machine. Want to start the service for this database from my machine.

Is it Possible?.However I am able to stop the service running on this server by using following command.

dbisqlc -c uid=<<uid>>;pwd=<<pwd>>;eng=<<Service-Name>>;con=DBUpdater;links=tcpip(host=<<Host-Name>>;port=<<Port>>)" c:\start.sql

start.sql contain following query.

stop engine <<Service-Name>> unconditionally

To stop the service i am using following command.

dbisqlc -c uid=<<uid>>;pwd=<<pwd>>;eng=<<Service-Name>>;con=DBUpdater;links=tcpip(host=<<Host-Name>>;port=<<Port>>)" c:\stop.sql

start.sql contain following query.

START ENGINE AS <<Service-Name>> STARTLINE 'dbsrv9 -n <<Service-Name>> -x tcpip{host=<<Host-Name>>;serverport=<<Port>>}'

But getting "Database server not found" message.

Please help me.
