    Unanswered: Scollable Static Text Forms

I have some help forms with titling labels and a "return to" button. The only other thing on each form is a control for displaying static text. In most of the other help forms the text is brief and can be done as a label. In three forms the text is lengthy and I want a box with vertical scroll bars. If I use a text box it assumes that what I type is the name of the control source and displays only the hated #Name?. I haven't experimented with creating a table of text records and then referring to it. What is the easiest/best way to handle this situation? fyi, each of these help forms is accessed from a single switchboard form.

Have already done that ! Text boxes have vert scrollbars but require a control source, and I haven't found a way to supply static text directly. Labels take text directly (caption) but do not provide a vertical scrollbar option.

I've been experimenting with setting up a master "helps" form. The form has a static title (label), a variable title (text box), a text box that will contain the help text, and a "Return to" button whose caption is variable.
I've set up a table "tblHelpsText" that has the following fields 1. numeric "textID"; 2. text "TitleText"; 3. memo "HelpText" 4. text "ReturnText".

I want to open the master form with a passed parameter "textID" and have the form open with the fields from just that one selected record.

How do I do that? or is there a better way?

scroll bar question - set control source to ="type your text here"

open to specific record - look in help for 'openargs'

Thanks, I thought I tried the ="text here" for the control source but maybe I typed something wrong.

On the OpenArgs property, MS help doesn't seem to have much. I'm finding a lot just googling it and since that property is new to me I've got to spend some time studying how to use it in this instance.

Typed something wrong? Type it again!

Shouldn't take you long to find an OpenArgs example that goes to a specific record
