Unanswered: Copy one remote database to another

    Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to copy one database to another, both are hosted remotely.

Is there a quick and easy way or do I need to dump data from one database to my local machine and then upload to the other.

    Thanks

if both are hosted remotely on different machines, say different servers then its probably is going to be easier to dump to local machine and then upload to new server.

the best person to ask however is whoever administers those remote servers they may well be able or prepared to do a direct import.

    Thanks for getting back healdem.

I'd rather not involve the admin guys, one of the companies I use is not very good hence the move.

I am doing the dump right now but have come across some errors in the dump, namely the current_timestamp, the last field in the table, has been dumped minus any quotes and the upload is failing on the fact it's not enclosed.

The field types are identical though.

any ideas on how I can avoid a tedious find and replace.
