Unanswered: command to find table description

    Hi guys,

I'm newb in sybase, I'm using SQL server and oracle.
    so,

    quick question about subject thread,
in oracle command we can do.
    desc [table name]

    what about in sybase?

and what the default format if we want to put date input?
in the column I saw the format like
    20081223

but if I put like this

    Code:
    update table1
    set dt_tran = '20081223'
    where dt_tran = NULL
    that above code doesn't work.

Can you guys shed some light please?

sp_help <tablename> gives you a lot of info about a table.

    where dt_tran is NULL

PS. The set option ansinull determines whether or not evaluation of null-valued operands in SQL equality (=) or inequality (!=) comparisons and aggregate functions is SQL standard-compliant.
