    After 650+ posts, why you post such bogus NONSENSE?

    >Select log_mone from v@database;
    >1 row selected
    I do know that the SELECT above did not return 1 row.

    I don't know what is valid & what is phony information in the post; so I decline to guess at any solution.

    Too bad that GOOGLE is broken for you.

    If this is for the US G. then you'll surely have a support contract with Oracle. Why not use the Oracle support to solve that problem?

    Cool Oracle errors

    Belive me, you use both. I just find the response time here faster and more diversified. Sometime, this could mean life or death. I"ve been on project were our ablility to get thing updated and up on the hill directly affects troops in the field.

    Here are two free clues.
    1) no listener & no SQL*Net are required to start or use Oracle RDBMS
    2) The listener & SQL*Net have nothing, nothing to do with archive log mode.

    Seems like the US Government would have some top-notch DBAs, ya know?

    You might also expect them to have a top notch leadership... (although being from Britain, stones - glass houses...)
