    Arrow Unanswered: Error in Query

    i am getting error on this query
    update client_margin inner join margin on client_margin.item=margin.item and client_margin.contract = margin.expiry set client_margin.mar=margin.margin;

    the problem arises when i use and clause . but it is also mandatory

    can anyone help

    1. what problem?
    2. can you post the structrue of the tables
    3. you must be aware an UPDATE Query can easily be designed from the query designer itself, which can quickly show the error.

    are they the same data type (ie both the same as in string, field length, number type)

    I thought normally the set clause came before the inner join
