Unanswered: Cannot drop table in BE - table is locked (was "help please")

I am new to access. Can any one help me.
I am using Access as backend. I created table through front end and utilized after i want to drop the table. When i try to drop i am getting error as " ACCESS:-1304[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The database engine could not lock table 'Z' because it is already in use by another person or process. "

But no body connected to my database.
    Can any one help.

Is there a good reason your table is in the BE? Can it be seen by session other than the one creating it? If not - create it locally (I always do). Assuming of course your FE is Access too.

^ Agreed, I always create "temporaray" tables in the FE too. I can only assume that the FE isn't access since it makes no sense to use ODBC to connect an Access FE to an Access BE.

Try deleting the .LDB file for the BE file?

Try checking for rogue instances of MSACCESS.EXE still running in the task manager even though Access isn't open. I've run into that more than once.
