Unanswered: Unknown Internal Operating System Error. Lock Violation.

We are using delphi 7 ,BDE and Paradox.
We created our tables in paradox.
Before our applications are running smoothly until the error "Unknown Internal Operating System error. Lock Violation" appear.

The database and applications (exe) are stored in the server with Window 2003 advanced server OS and our client is accessing this applications in their Windows XP workstation.

We dont know what cause this error. Sometimes it says lock violation and giving the full path of a file. sometimes the file is pdoxusrs.lck but sometimes one of the paradox table.

Since paradox is not a server-based database, and since you provided no code or other details, I'm moving this thread to the Paradox database forums.

thanks, moderator, but this has nothing directly to do with paradox (the software) either.. it should have been moved to whatever forum deals with Delphi..

also, to the poster.. you should post more details when you have an error.. exact context in the code, especially.. and here, are you using the BDE, or some flavor of ODBC to access the tables?.. yes, that would seem to be a stupid question, but occasionally the answer is ODBC, for whatever reason..

and finally, you might want to post this directly to the Borland newsgroups.. there's a link on my Links page..

Kooyah.. I can offer a few generic clues that might start you down the trail, but you seem to have missed the main point.. they put this message in the wrong place.. you need to go to the Delphi forum here and/or to the Borland Delphi newsgroups..

your lock errors could be any number of different things:

    bad path/mapping
    multiple net files
    lock conflicts in the code
    file access errors
    corrupt lock file
    corrupt tables/indexes

when you re-post on the correct forum, it will help a lot if you can identify the exact error message and the exact context..
