    Unanswered: Summarising Formula Fields

    I am trying to summarise a field created using a formula.
    I have a formula which subtracts one value from another and I am trying to use a total to summarise the result at a group footer and again at the report footer.
    I have used a variable at the detail level using
    whileprintingrecords ; Numbervar TotalCost:= TotalCost + {NewCost}
    I have then hidden the field.
    On the Group Footer I have used the variable again in the formula
    Whileprintingrecords; Numbervar Totalcost.
    This works OK but I cannot figure out how to reset it on change of group

    Put your variable into the Group Header and set it to 0 using the syntax:
    Totalcost: = 0

    This should reset to 0, whenever the group changes.
