    Is the disk volume where you are storing the archive logs full?

    Hi,

    Do you really need those archive logs? Then you must backup them with RMAN. Actually you must backup that database IF it's production, testing or development...

    is that your personal Oracle sandbox?... delete them, you won't miss them.

    Run this to file the log archive destination:

    select * from v$parameter where name = 'log_archive_dest';

    Although how you know that the volume storing them is full without knowing where they're stored is an interesting question.

    Ora-01033

    I have a database and previously, it worked fine when I login into PL/SQL. Recently, when I tried to login using PLSQL, i recevied error ora 01033.

    In order to solve it, i connected to the database thru cmd window and shutdown abort the database,

    SQL> conn sys/sys as sysdba
    Connected.
    SQL> shutdown abort
    ORACLE instance shut down.
    SQL> startup nomount
    ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect
    descriptor

    I kept receiving the same error when i tried to startup.

    Someone, please help me out. Any suggestion/feedback would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you very much.
