    I have installed this. I also downloaded InstantClient and unzip the two folders and 21 files into a folder and added the folder to my search PATH.

    I am totally unfamiliar with Oracle. I now need to connect to an Oracle database. I am given the server's IP address, port and Service Name. How do I map these to the Server, Initial Schema that SQLDBX is asking for? I keep getting an error:
    ------------ --------- ------
    SqlDbx
    ------------ --------- ------
    OCIServerAttach failed

    ORA-12504: TNS:listener was not given the SERVICE_NAME in CONNECT_DATA

    ------------ --------- ------
    OK
    ------------ --------- ------

    Other people are connecting to the same database using PL/SQL and their TNS (I am not familiar with that at all) contains an entry that says:

    XXXXXX.WORLD =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 10.1.2.52)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = XXXXXX))
    )

    Thanks for all the help.
