    Did it ever cross your mind to look in the SQL Reference manual for
    ALTER TABLE ... DROP COLUMN ....

    It, actually, depends on what you call "delete a column". Technically speaking, I'd expect that you'd like to make it empty (instead of "drop" it so that it doesn't exist in a table any more).

    So, if it is about dropping a column, Anacedent told you how to do that. If you'd like to make it empty, then UPDATE the table and set column's value to NULL. If you don't know how to do that, now that you know documentation source - search for use of the UPDATE statement.
