    Unanswered: Population Problem Ilustrated

    Hello all,

    this time question with ilustrations.

    1. Suppliers Table - shows 3 suppliers id's and names. I presume, because those two information are in the same table, access "knows" that supplier ID 1 is S, ID 2 is N

2.Input-Supplier-Name shows what method I used for that specific field data entry.

    3.Relationship, shows relationships between tables.

4.Inventory table - shows fields Supplier name and ID supplier are not updated. When I shoose Supplier Name, ID supplier is not automatically updated. Belonging to the same table, I thought, that it will be updated by itself.

Most probably, for somebody experianced, this will sound bizzare, but, for me it is a challenge.

The Idea was, when I chooseSupplier name in Inventory table, the field Supplier ID would updated.

    Any suggestion, please.

    Regards

    Not possible in tables.

You use a combo box for Supplier ID in the Inventory table, not Supplier Name. There should be no supplier name in the inventory table at all.

Tables are used for storage and structure.
Forms and queries are used for data entry and user interface.
