    Something like this?
    Code:
    IF error_code = <FRM error code here> THEN
       do_something;
       ...
    END IF;

    Question

    thanks Littlefoot for you reply.

    consider the example,

    declare invalid_data exception;
    pragma exception_init(invalid_data,-50016);

    begin
    exception
    when invalid_data then
    <show some alert>
    raise form_trigger_failure;
    end;

    as far as i know this will catch the ORA-50016 exception and displays an alert to the user. but if i want to catch FORM-50016 will it work?

    exception description
    FORM-50016: Legal characters are 0-9 - + E .

    i have a format mask on a number field. and if i enter char and try to continue then this exception is raised.

    thanks again

    use the above code in ON-ERROR trigger at form level and ur problem will get fixed.
