    Unanswered: Oracle for beginners

    Hello All,

    I am just starting to learn the Oracle Application (DBMS and App Server). I would like to know what resource to use so I can catch up very fast. I presently do not know anything (well, almost). I have installed Oracle 10g Release2 on my vista home OS.

    I'd be grateful for whatever useful advice.

    Cheers.

    This is one place to start with Oracle RDBMS;
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B...b14220/toc.htm

    Depending on how you learn best (by doing, by reading, or by being taught), you may want to look into an Oracle class or two, but those get to be pretty expensive.

    I learn better by doing. I downloaded a documentation from Oracle's site, about 500-600MB I was hoping to get something less bulky to set me going.

    Thanks for your help.

    If you have a decent box you could always download the binaries from http://otn.oracle.com to mess around with (developer license, of course).

    I've got them installed on a server at home just for screwing around with.
