    Unanswered: Oracle Query Comparison

    Hello There..
    I'm very new to Sybase... so please bear with me...

    Is there a query in Sybase similar to the following Oracle statement ?

    select * from user_tab_columns where column_name like 'xyz';

    Basically, I'm looking for an equivalent system table for "user_tab_columns" and "column_name"... so that I can find the occurrance of a particular column in a database.

    Please and Thanks !!

    Thank you for the prompt reply...
    I was not able to use the script as such, maybe version difference or something ... I'm using Sybase central 4.1. But, your suggestions gave me a starting point.
    Just in case anyone else needs it ...

    The Sybase equivalent of Oracle stmt
    select * from user_tab_columns where column_name like 'xyz';
    is :
    select * from syscolumns where cname='xyz'

    The column tname from the result gives the table name

    Thanks Again !!
