Any reason that you won't recommend this?

I have 2 different machines and one is running 2000 sql server with 60 databases. Other machine is running 2005 sql server with 25 databases.

Both are of the latest config with 4 GB Ram.

Primary reason - inefficient memory management by SQL2K, which will eventually starve your SQL2K5.

dude. get the point and just do not do this unless you want to take the risk. you can do things like adjust the max server memory per instance to mitigate this but depending on your version of SQL and your configuration, you may not even be able to address more than 4GB of RAM.
“If one brings so much courage to this world the world has to kill them or break them, so of course it kills them. The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.” Earnest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms.
