    Unanswered: deleting trace files

    hi all,
    how do i delete trace files in bulk like for a month or so at the time. at the moment i only delete them one by one and its tedious. we running oracle 10g on aix version 5 operating system.

    I do it via cron using the find command -exec rm {} \;

    If you're using Windows then schedule a batch file to run once a month to delete the files.
    90% of users' problems can be resolved by punching them - the other 10% by switching off their PCs.

    You may want to do some other house-keeping, therefore write a script to:

    • Remove old core, aud, trc and tkp files.
    • Remove and/or shrink the logs (alert log, listener.log, sqlnet.log, etc...)
    • Remove and/or shrink application generated logs.
