Unanswered: Changing the database to unicode?

I currently have a web application connected to a MSSQL 2005 database. We are signing some new clients to our web application who will be using a different language set. So were going have to change the database to Unicode? Anyone have any experience with this, or what are the steps implications involved?

You're probably referring to changing (VAR)CHAR and TEXT fields to NCHAR, NVARCHAR, and NTEXT data types? This can be done in several ways, and is dependent on your preferences and amount of experience you have. But it will also have long-lasting implications. For example, along with extracting data, modifying data types, and reloading the data for every table that contains string values, you will have to modify every stored procedure that accepts character arguments, and change their datatypes accordingly.

nothing but the Key, so help me Codd."
