    Thumbs up Unanswered: SQL Server Link Issue - MS OLE-DB Provider

    "OLE/DB Provider 'SQLOLEDB' ITransactionJoin::JoinTransaction returned 0x8004d00a]. "

    Following works with Server Link using Native SQL link (Production Environment), but not MS OLE-DB link (Staging Environment).
    INSERT INTO #Details
    EXEC (@SQL)

    But it works with OLE-DB Link when converted to:
    EXEC('INSERT INTO #Details ' + @SQL)

    I've pretty much done everything as related dcomcnfg.exe config with inbound/outbound in security configuration, etc.

    I cannot use a native SQL Link because the link name actually points to a different servername (for our staging environment) and I want to use existing link names as they appear in sprocs, views, functions, etc.

    Servers are actually VMs. Not sure if this is related to that or not, or if it is just an OLE-DB server link issue.

    Thanks,
    Paul

    Guys, resolved via

    msdtc -uninstall
    msdtc -install

    No sure how the server folks installed, but probably from an image that is a bit flaky.
