    Question Unanswered: SQL Expression

    Hi there,
I am trying to get an SQL expression query to work but it keeps coming up with an error saying the syntax is incorrect. Please see my code below:

    SELECT "Clearance"."Identifier2ndItem"
    FROM "Clearance""Clearance"
    WHERE "Clearance"."GlCategory" = "INAC"

I have a table named Clearence. I have 2 fields: Identifier2ndItem and GlCategory.

I want to show the Identifier2ndItem field where the GlCategory = "INAC"

Can anyone see why this query keeps returning a syntax error.

    Thanks
    Darren

    Try the following
    Code:
    SELECT Identifier2ndItem
    FROM Clearance
    WHERE GlCategory = 'INAC'

    Hi Georgev,
Many thanks but it still says `There is an error in this SQL expression`
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks

What kind of connectivity are you using? Also, paste the detailed message if possible.

    Hi,
Yes I tried the code you posted and I got the same error message - this bit of code is basically showing what I need to achieve.

What I want to do is instead of using the select expert to retieve values is use this sql expression field to retrieve the value - Hope this makes scense?
