Unanswered: creating a ConnectionTimeout error in vb6

    Hi to all,

I'm using vb6 and MySQL together and I want to know if anyone has ideas on how to mimic/make a ADODB.Connection object 'Timeout' error?

When it comes to the CommandTimeout error, I think I would just have to 'lock' the tables, inorder for ADO to raise the CommandTimeout error.

I do not have the luxury of many computers connecting to a single server, which could help produce a timeout error (it has been said that many connections make a server busy).

I am only using two computers, one which is my development computer and the other one is the server where MySQL is running?

How can I be able to test for a connection timeout since I am the only one connecting? Any ideas? Should I run many/multiple instances of my program? I think that would be absurd.

    Thanks and god bless.

pause the code with say a modal dialog
nuke the MySQL server/ stop connections on the server
    restart the code
I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton

I was going to suggest unplugging the network cable
