    Unanswered: How to handle Transactions in Paradox database?

    Hi,
    I am quite new to Paradox database. I am trying to handle database operations like insert and delete as a transaction using C#. But I am getting an exception saying "ERROR [HYC00] [Microsoft][ODBC Paradox Driver]Optional feature not implemented". So I am wondering whether Paradox supports transactions. Please help me.

    The following is the code snippet.

    public void Save()
    {
    cn.Open();
    OdbcTransaction objTransaction = cn.BeginTransaction();
    try
    {
    OdbcCommand cmd = new OdbcCommand();
    cmd.Connection = cn;
    cmd.Transaction = objTransaction;
    //Insert query - Table 1

    //Insert query - Table 2
    objTransaction.Commit();
    }
    catch (Exception ex_SaveFunctionDiagram)
    {
    objTransaction.Rollback();
    MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
    }
    }

    please post your question on the C+ forum.. this has nothing to do with the paradox table itself, or paradox software..

    Thumbs down Paradox Tables Don't support transactions, the BDE does.

    Adding to this old thread for those lurking...

    >>[Microsoft][ODBC Paradox Driver]Optional feature not implemented

    This means the ODBC driver you are using does not support transactions.

    As a file-based database, Paradox tables themselves don't support transactions. In Paradox for Windows transactions are implemented by the Borland Database Engine (BDE).
