Unanswered: Installing SQL2005 on WinXP SP3

I have a new machine with WinXP SP3 and I'm having trouble installing SQL 2005 Server products (Dev Edition). It lets me install the client products, but not the server. I can't create a Server Instance on my machine.
Is this a problem with WinXP SP3? Or am I doing something else wrong?

yuo are probably using either Standard or Enterprise edition of SQL2K5. you can only use Developer edition on XP.

No, I am definitely attempting to install Developer Edition (as I made clear in my question)

Have you looked at the setup log? have checked the SQ and HW prerequisites?

Are you receiving a specific error?

But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.” Earnest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms.

OK, my turn to be embarrassed.
I was clicking the steup.exe in the Tools directory rather than the Server directory - so no wonder I was only installing the client tools. Sorry!
